Alpine's Health Policies
Your family's health is our priority.

What Our Teachers Are Doing

  • Keep the same children together.
  • Keep the groups small.
  • Keep the groups separate throughout the day.
  • Have the children play, learn and eat in their own classrooms.
  • Take the children outside as often as possible for recess and academics.
  • Limit the number of people who enter the building.
  • Wear masks.
  • Increase sanitizing and disinfecting.
  • Remove all shared seating, such as couches and bean bags.
  • Remove sensory tables, cloth toys, and stuffed animals.
  • Eliminate food art and food science.
  • Stagger what time the children are in the bathrooms.
  • Seat the children as far apart as possible.
  • Set out hand sanitizer and touchless trash cans.
  • Assign pencils, crayons, markers, scissors, etc... to each child.
  • Wear gloves when handling food, handling belongings, changing diapers, or helping in the bathroom.
  • Teach the children to avoid handshakes, high fives, etc.
  • Avoid using items that require blowing, such as balloons.
  • Disallow treats for birthdays and holiday parties.
  • When staff members meet, stay 6' apart, wear masks, and limit meetings to less than 15 minutes.
  • Change the HVAC filters regularly.
  • Resupply hand sanitizer, tissue, etc regularly.
  • Post information about masks and distancing.
  • Wear gloves, a face shield, and a surgical mask when cleaning or when with a sick child.
  • Share health information with the adminstration only, not the other teachers or families.

What Your Family Can Do

  • If your child has symptoms of COVID-19, keep him or her home. (For a list of symptoms, see below.)
  • Children who are 3+ years old must wear masks during drop-off, during pick-up, when in the hallway, and when in the bathroom.
  • Families must wear masks during drop-off and pick-up.
  • Only 1 adult from each family may drop off or pick up at a time.
  • Please do not come into the building.
  • Stay 6' from other families, even outside with a mask on.
  • Pack sippy cups or bottles that your child can open without touching the top with his fingers.
  • Prepare cups or bottles in advance; don't have us pour.
  • Pack food & drink that your child can open & close independently.
  • Leave diapers, pull-ups, wipes, and cream at school.
  • Bring as few items from home as possible.
